Family Fun Day 2019!

Families were in for a real treat when EES opened on Saturday, April 27 for its second annual Family Fun event.

The event featured animals from the Southern Vermont Natural History Museum, interactive performances by the Annies, and several other activities that staff donated their time to provide for the children and their families to enjoy.

If you walked through the halls of the Birge Nest, you could also find children planting seeds, making and decorating rainsticks or binoculars using cardboard tubes, applying their creative talents to decorate cloth bags, making and eating healthy snacks, picking out free books, and listening to live music.

As the morning unfolded, you began to see the children’s faces bursting with colorful designs. Several excited little faces left the face-painting station adorned with unicorns, flowers, monsters, and happy smiles.

We would like to extend our gratitude to the Brattleboro Food Co-op and Commonwealth Dairy for the yogurt donations, High Mowing Organic Seeds for donating the seeds for our planting activity, and Fairen Stark for lending her amazing face painting skills! Special thanks to Sandy Stark for coordinating and putting together this event, and to all of our staff who came in to run all of the activities for the children and their families. Thank you as well to all families who showed up to share this fun-filled Saturday morning with us!
