The Assistant Teacher participates in the planning and implementation of curriculum with guidance from the lead teacher. They will help assure completion of developmental screenings, on-going assessments, curriculum plans, Individual Learning Plans, home visits/family conferences and on-going family communication under the direction of the lead teacher. They will actively supervise and assure the safety of children at all times.
Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED. Must pass a criminal background check and a pre-employment physical.
Candidates should have a minimum of 1 year experience in a center-based early childhood setting.
All candidates must be able to communicate effectively and work collaboratively on a multi-disciplinary team and must complete a Career Ladder Level I Fundamentals Course or a three (3) credit child development course within 12 months of hire.
